explanation of "KEY and HEART" in my photography...

For those of you who know me, or have worked with me in the past, know that I not only specialize in capturing the connections we make with our hearts, through my lens as my business, but also know I live my life in this manner....  The interactions and connections we have with the people and places around us, is very important and is such an intense thing for me...

Life is so beautiful, in so many ways, and by paying attention to the little details, not only do we see a beautiful moment but we feel a beautiful love...

I happen to think this is a beautiful image of a gorgeous baby girl but what makes me FALL IN LOVE with it, is the intense look and love in her eyes as she gazes up at her mama... 

After looking at the image on the bottom as a whole, please take a look at the part of little miss Ava's eyes that I have enlarged and attached on the top, and please look closely at her eyes as you can see the reflection of her beautiful mother playing with her daughter...

These are the moments that shape our lives...
These are the moments that stick with us forever... 
These are the moments that mean everything... 
These are the KEYS to our HEARTS.

Open Casting Call...

OPEN CASTING CALL!!!

I am looking for a heavily TATTOOED lady, preferably sleeved but not necessarily a must...

I have a few things planned, but her being comfortable showing a little skin and implied sexiness (sultry NOT slutty) is VERY IMPORTANT. (By applying you are agreeing to Key and Heart's model release terms and KNOW IN ADVANCE that these images will be used ONLINE and/ or PRINT for ADVERTISING purposes)

THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE BLAST!! so a love of laughing and having fun is also a HUGE plus!!

NO modeling experience needed! I LOVE when my subjects have never modeled before!! (but of course, feel free to apply if you do have experience too!)

18 years of age and older ONLY!!!!!

play time with Kylie, Tehachapi, CA

this spunky lil' (almost) 3 year old was so much fun to play with!!  I've had the pleasure of knowing Kylie since she was about 6 months old and barely rolling around the floor, when I taught at the infant center and preschool she attended, so when her grandma got a hold of me to do their family portraits, I was ecstatic!!  After discussing what it was that they wanted, and the style and feeling she wanted documented, we decided on Tangleweed Farms, here in Tehachapi, for the shoot... (which is one of my favorite places EVER!!) ...We wanted soft, fun, pretty and playful and as always, I really wanted Kylie's personality to shine through in her images and the connection she shares with her grandparents.

Here are a few of my favorites :)

I LOVE how young children never do what you might be expecting them to do.... I know it's not one you would hang on the wall, but it made me laugh and I just could't discard it :)

she was fascinated with the hens! ...and I learned that they love to eat rose petals... who knew!! haha!
